EXPERTISE

Start with the system.
Then interrogate the data.

Energy use depends on equipment, demand and operating constraints. We analyze them together to turn data into practical operating decisions.

BASELINE & MEASUREMENT AND VERIFICATION

Separate operating improvement from changing conditions.

Production, weather and operating hours can differ before and after a project. A baseline estimates expected energy use under the reporting period’s conditions, providing a fairer comparison with actual use.

Energy saving = adjusted baseline energy − actual energy

Define the measurement boundary, relevant variables and adjustment rules before evaluating performance.

01 · ENGINEERING

Understand the process and energy flows.

Review equipment, service requirements, operating conditions and the measurement boundary.

02 · DATA QUALITY

Align production and energy records.

Check meters, units, timestamps and abnormal data before fitting a model.

03 · BASELINE

Model expected consumption.

Use relevant production, load, time and weather variables; assess model performance and applicability.

04 · M&V

CASE18 · Manufacturing

Potential

Compressed-air UPI and control optimization in a chemical plant

Low- and high-pressure compressor systems were benchmarked using specific electricity consumption, unit staging, pressure and BOV/IGV behavior. Additional savings opportunities were identified even though baseline performance was already better than the peer average.

CASE26 · Water & wastewater

Field comparison

Verifying inlet-pump efficiency after replacement

Five-minute and monthly operating data were used to compare wastewater throughput and electricity before and after inlet-pump replacement. Flow-normalized performance improved while the reported treatment capacity remained broadly comparable.
